United States Unemployment RateUnited States Unemployment RateUnited States Unemployment Rate08/04/2017The national unemployment rate retouched the 16-year low of 4.3% in July 2017 and the number of unemployed persons was little changed with a small increase of 4,000 (+0.1%) according to the latest monthly employment situation report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.The number of people employed increased by 209,000 in July showing the U.S. is creating plenty of new jobs. The three-month average increased from an adjusted 194,000 to 195,000 in July while the trailing twelve-month average slowed from an adjusted 187,000 to 180,000 reflecting a stronger job market a year ago.
